Favorite Movies: Splendor in the Grass

Why? For the same reason I enjoy Thomas Hardy books.
She’s Having a Baby Why? The scene near the end in the hospital, with the Kate Bush song playing, I cry every time. And I like how her character is so quiet.
Time of the Gypsies, 1988 Why? This movie is some kind of wierd Yugoslavian magical-realism. It's really strange, and really really great.
Breaking the Waves Why? See first two above. I clearly like my emotions tortured.
Antonia’s Line Why? More magical-realism and humor with a bit of feminism (the positive kind).
The Piano Why? Holly Hunter and great soundtrack. Reminds me of college.
Lost in Translation Why? Acting. Wierd sense of humor. And it has my favorite My Bloody Valentine song in it.
High Fidelity Why? For the Chicago scene where Cusak is standing on the Kinzie Street Bridge. And the top-five lists.
Heathers Why? It's the only movie I can quote from.
The Graduate Why? For that little squeaking noise Dustin Hoffman makes.
